This training class discusses both existing and new refrigerants used in today’s vehicles including R1234yf.  We discuss new and modified components of modern A/C systems including IHX (internal heat exchanger) and the recent changes to them.  The new SAE J-standards in effect today are defined and discussed.  Different A/C compressor designs are explained as well as some new service and testing techniques.  In addition, we present a review of A/C thermodynamics, the A/C cycle loop and some proven best practices for the teaching of these topics to your students.  We use our EM-2000 trainers to demonstrate a “hands-on” method of teaching these subjects.  Hybrid A/C systems are covered as well as the new refrigerant oils used in them.  A class handout and editable Power Point are available for this class.
